How do I take my lip ring off?

Mmkay, so my lip ring is a loop with a ball in it, and I can't get the ball unscrewed. I don't know if it's the rings design, or if the piercers did it like that so I wouldn't be able to take it off. But if anyone knows what I should do that would help me aloot, thanks.
