Is receiving TD an overrated stat?

Every non biased fan knows that Andre Johnson is top 3 WR and he's never had double digit touchdowns, but an unproven rookie like Rob Gronkowski with only 42 receptions had 10 TD. Mike Vrabel was a defensive player who was used as a Tight End on goal line situations and 100% of his receptions (including playoffs) were TD.
